Un-Boxing: Bath & Body Works order (and how to shop from outside of the U.S.)

Like many others I am a HUGE fan of Bath & Body Works. I became a total addict the first time I went to the United States in 2005. I ended up spending over an hour and a half in the Bath & Body Works-store in the Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta because I just couldn’t decide on which candle(s) to buy and which shower gel smelled better.
And that problem kept repeating itself EVERY TIME I went back to a Bath & Body Works-store during my visits…

Since I only visit the US about twice a year I HAD to find another way to score products to feed my addiction. I just couldn’t deal with the jealousy while watching B&BW hauls on YouTube anymore! 😄
So I went online to their website and did some research on the payment and shipping options. To my surprise they offered Paypal as a payment option which is perfect for people who don’t have a credit card.
Unfortunately they were only shipping to addresses located within the United States, Puerto Rico, US territories and Canada … (WHY NOT TO EUROPE?!?!?!?!?!?!). Then I got the great idea to ask my good friend Louis who lives in Phoenix, AZ if he could help me. He agreed on having the order shipped out to his address.

With that settled I went back online and … splurged! It felt as if I were back in that store in Atlanta again…I didn’t know what to pick! But this time because I couldn’t smell the candles, wallflowers and all that other good stuff first… 😔
Finally…after about an hour …. Okay maybe 2 …. FINE!!! I’ll admit … 3 hours later I looked at my online shopping cart and was pretty pleased with what was in there. I filled in Louis’ address and paid through Paypal. Easy-Breezy….

About 4 or 5 days later Louis called me to tell me the package had arrived. We both went looking for the cheapest way to ship it out to The Netherlands (which was with USPS). We chose for the option “Priority Mail Express International Flat Rate Boxes”. It costs $79.95 and you get a USPS-produced box (13-5/8″ x 11-7/8″ x 3-3/8″ or 11″ x 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″) in which you can ship up to 20 pounds (about 9kg).
When my doorbell rang 3 days later I had no idea who it was. I was totally astonished when the mailman handed me this big box and found out it was the B&BW package!

By now you must be very curious what was in that box, huh?! 😜
Well, let me show you what I treated myself to….

Don’t you think the inside of that box is just too pretty?!

The first things I bought were a bunch of Wallflower Fragrance Bulbs:

1. Strawberry Picnic (2x)
2. Brown Sugar & Fig
3. Pineapple Mango
4. Japanese Cherry Blossom
5. Exotic Coconut
6. Watermelon Lemonade

I also bought two Wallflower Fragrance Plugs. You can’t plug them into a wall socket here in The Netherlands but I have a few universal power plugs which make the wallflowers work perfect!

I decided to buy only one body product because I wanted to buy as many products for my new apartment as possible (yes I moved about two months ago but more on that in another post😊). I chose “Cotton Blossom”. It’s a fresh smelling shower gel which at first reminded me of a masculine fragrance but now that I have used it in the shower a few times it actually smells really good. It’s not something I would use everyday since I’m more of a fruity-smelling-shower gel kind of girl…but it’s definitely not a bad smell!

Next I bought 3 “Pineapple Mango” mini candles to go with the wall flower bulb to intensify the smell. And I’m thinking of putting those in the bedroom. It’s a smaller space and three mini candles + a wallflower will probably do the job pretty well in there.

Now, onto the things I am most excited about….my 3-Wick Candles!!!!! I am obsessed with them!!! They make your room smell so good!
Before I started using these I had tried many different scented candles before. None of them seemed to be fragranced enough to make a whole room smell nice. You had to literally stick your nose in the candle to smell something.
It’s a totally different story with these B&BW candles!!!! The moment you light them it starts giving your room a nice smell that will stick around for hours even after you have blown out the candle.

This time I went for:

1. Coconut Lime Verbena
2. Ice Cream Shop (2x)
3. Gelato (2x)

I also bought 4 sleeves for them…

Okay so shipping is a little pricey. But if you really want to make a purchase there and you don’t have a lot to spend… Then I suggest you wait for sales. For example: their Black Friday sale or wait until after Christmas!!
Right now they have a pretty good “2 for $22” sale on 3-wick Candles!!!!

Have you also made a Bath & Body Works purchase from outside of the US? How did you go about it? And what’s your favorite product?
